I don’t believe so. A child doesn’t have to be obese. Adults either. Unfortunately we’ve let “obesity” become a norm.

Literally a study was just done and linked obesity to being a hereditary Gene... But I also don't think it helps if the parent is eating shit ass food and feeding shit ass food to their child.. with that being said... You can be fat and healthy, some people just can't lose/keep weight off with diet and exercise because of their genes.. not because they are lazy and eat junky ultra processed foods.

A very small roll. Just because you are genetically predisposed to be obese, does not mean that you will be obese. I think it's very sad to see overweight kids. It is up to their parents to feed them healthy food and get them outside playing. Unfortunately obesity is becoming the norm and is even being glamorized.

I think a shitty diet and laziness/lack of activity has more to do with it than genes. If it's a thyroid issue or something similar then obviously you can't really control that. But most people that I know who are obese are that way because they eat awful food and sit around all day.
