A step in the right direction

Re

So piggy backing on the recycle post, I thought I'd share what my town in doing. I do think it is a step in the right direction and helps making restaurants WANT to cut down on single use plastics.

The reality is, eco friendly products are NOT cheap for us. Yes you can say "if it's important just do it". Easier said than done. With paying for eco friendly products, prices will increase to cover the cost.

BUT I think this is a good place to start. Some towns have already banned straws (awesome!). But my city is trying to go further by then either only being offered upon request, or bringing your own containers. The city is also offering incentives to help push owners into WANTING to choose eco friendly products.

What do you guys think?

Should there be more incentive as the process of these products don't seem to be changing?

Should we fight the good fight to get these products prices dropped?
