Peeling hands and feet

My 11 month old has been having skin peel off from his hands and feet. It started with the feet, at first they just seemed dry so I have been lotioning then more, but it's not helping. It has started to peel in large portions. He has his 12 month check up on the 11th, just not sure if I should take him in before then. Has anyone seen anything like this? It doesn't seem to bother him at all. He doesn't even notice. Of course Dr. Google has me freaked out.
