Appointment? What’s typical??

Hey all! I just found out I’m pregnant. I called my OBGYN and they said typically they don’t see patients before 8 weeks. So is scheduled my first appointment for May 1st but from what I’ve seen places take your blood right away and track your levels. Is this only if you have been having trouble??

They did all of the blood work, questionnaire, 1st ultrasound, and pap smear at 8 weeks for me.

My doctor was nice enough to see me at 6 wks 4 days but that was because of my past experiences having went through one miscarriage and one ectopic. She wanted to make sure baby was in the right spot.

My first OB appointment they did bloodwork, papsmear and first ultrasound. They make you wait until 8 weeks so you are able to see the heartbeat and the sac.

I only got blood work bc I was having bad cramps. My first ultrasound was 9 weeks

My OBGYN doesn't see anyone until 10-12 weeks. I had a quick appointment before that at around 8 weeks or so to fill out some paperwork and confirm the pregnancy via a urine sample, but that's it. At my first appointment, it was bloodwork and a regular physical exam. No pap smear since I had just had one a few months prior. We also did a quick dating ultrasound to confirm how far along I was. It's very normal for doctors to not see you earlier than 8 weeks.

Every OB is going to be different they won’t all do the same things. Really you won’t know what will be done til you go. My OB did my Pap smear checked my weight and blood pressure asked if I had any questions and that was it it was too heart to hear baby in a Doppler so we didn’t do that. I talked to the nurse she gave me dos and don’t list of safe to take meds for whatever I may encounter then I was given paper work to go have my blood work done genetic testing if I wanted it and I had to have an early glucose test done. I did not have an ultrasound they only do them if you are having genetic testing and then again at 20 weeks.

I called to confirm pregnancy, and i scheduled my appointment for 7 weeks. But when i called to confirm they did call me in to get bloodwork to check levels. So I had 3 bloodwork appointments before my actual appointment at 7 weeks.

My ob didn’t see me until 8 weeks. My GP did bloods to check vitamin levels ect. Never told me my hcg level or anything though.

Normally you only get levels checked if you had a previous loss or had problems conceiving. Totally normal for you to not go in until 8 weeks.
