IUD Insertion Review

So I just got my Paragard IUD inserted this morning and I have to say it wasn’t nearly as scary as I thought it was going to be...I’ve read so many stories of women saying it was the most painful thing they’ve ever experienced but mine felt more uncomfortable and awkward. It did pinch when my cervix was measured but the whole process took about 5 minutes. I did take 1500 mg of Tylenol extra strength about an hour before insertion as well.

Afterward, I did experience cramping but it wasn’t anything that Tylenol extra strength couldn’t handle. It’s been about 11 hours since insertion and I feel completely normal. I don’t have cramps anymore, I feel great.

I wanted to write this review because there are soooo many scary reviews and horror stories out there about IUDs, I knew I was guilty of falling for them and working myself up. If you’re thinking about an IUD and think it’s the best option for you, go for it! I’m already in love with the IUD even though it hasn’t been a day. Fingers crossed everything else goes well in the future as well!
