IUD removed in June...still ttc

So I had my IUD removed in June. Now my AF is not normal. I've talked to my doctor and he said once it was removed I could get pregnant right away. AF is late ( day 39) a BFN. Had this happened to anyone else? How long did it take for AF to be normal. Is there anything I can do to help get back on my normal cycle? Baby dust to all :)
