Mini pill placebo week-Updated

UPDATE: Oh my gosh, guys, I am so glad I asked this! Fortunately I have been taking the entire pack, but they really should explain it better! I'd been on other birth control pills prior to pregnancy, but never the mini pill. So, do you never have a period on the mini pill, even if you're not breastfeeding? Crazy that the OB wouldn't explain this thoroughly to everyone!

Okay I'm probably over thinking this but I need to know!

I'm 3 months pp, started the mini pill around 7 weeks pp. No issues, but I'm breastfeeding so I don't have a period.

Do we need to use back up protection during my placebo week, or am I still covered during that time? Really don't want to get pregnant with an infant haha.
