I had sex for the first time with my current boyfriend a few months after my 18th Bday. Now, there WAS blood but ot wasnt painful. Just a little uncomfortable. Is that normal? Because I heard the first time (and even second time) its supposed to be painful.

The reason many people believe sex is suppose to be painful is because your body wasn't ready yet. Not in an age or development sense, but when your properly aroused sense. If you have enough foreplay before hand, kr general arousal your vagina loosens and creates a lot of natural lubrication. Many peoples first time is painful because they likely didn't know to look for these signs. There's only so much lube can do if you're really tight down there virgin or not.

There are variations of normal. I didn't bleed and had zero pain. I was a little over 18 also, had been with my boyfriend over a year and he was extremely gentle and attentive. It was amazing.

I had sex after i was 18. Im not sure if the guy knew i was virgin or not. I had no blood and it did not hurt at all. He asked if i was sure i wanted to have sex but he wasnt gentle. Ive heard from women that dont use tampons and didn't go to a gyno that their first time hurt. Im thinking maybe because the hymen was still there. Mine wasn't so that could have something to do with it.
