OPK help?!

Is it normal for opks to not gradually get darker. Took a cheapie and digital last night and they were both negatives, the cheapie blank and the digital was an solid circle. Took a cheapie and digital this morning and the cheapie is positive with two dark same color sines and the digital says peak with the solid smiley. And glow says ovulation day is April 5th.
