Need some advice

I'm supposed to be 5 weeks today according to my last period. I am in school training to be an ultrasound tech. My instructor scanned on me today and said he didn't see anything besides a 5cm cyst on my left ovary and a thick endometrial lining. Is it just too early or should I be worried?? He just did an abdominal ultrasound because we are not allowed to do endovag ultrasounds in school. Any similar experiences you ladies have had?
