Pictures in the operating room for a C section?

My mom and sister want to gift us with pictures in the operating room during our C Section, no pictures behind the sheet. Just of his first moments in the world! New born photos and home photos afterwards. Thoughts?

Some hospitals don’t allow pictures during a c-section and only your SO or one other person is allowed in the OR. My hospital does not allow pictures or videos until after the baby is delivered.

You would need to check with the hospital if they allow it. I personally chose to have a photographer come a couple hours after birth. It gave me a reason to tell family not to come until then. She captured everyone seeing the baby for the first time and I’d had a chance to freshen up a tiny bit and get comfortable in bed and nurse the baby. It’s what I was comfortable with. If you want all the gory stuff captured, that’s up to you! (Everyone I know who’s had a section mentions an OR nurse who grabs your phone and gets a couple pics for you, if that helps.) Photographers will do a “fresh 48” in the hospital but if you’re doing newborn pics at home or in the studio I would just wait for then to do pics of all three of you and the details of the baby.

Call the hospital and ask. When I had mine the nurses took my phone and took pictures for us. When my sister had hers she had my mom in the room with her and my mom took pictures. Here’s mine 🥰

A lot of hospitals don’t allow more than one “support” person in the OR for c sections because it gets CROWDED real quick in there, I had no idea how many people had to be in the OR until I had my section. Due to that they often times don’t allow photographers but I know many nurses in there will take photos with you or dads phone so you have the memories. Definitely check with your hospital before though.

Ask the hospital. My husband took photos with his phone but he had to stay in his corner of the operating room. I was under general anesthesia, so we were just happy they allowed him to be there at all. Some don’t allow more than one other person in the room.
