Heterotrophic pregnancy
Hi all! I've had bad pains in my left side and lower back for a few days now.. Doctor had me come in today because they were worried it was something like a UTI. Had an ultrasound and baby looks healthy! Exactly 7 weeks and HR of 142 bpm.
However, they THINK I have what's called a heterotrophic pregnancy which I think means I was supposed to have twins and one got stuck in my Fallopian tube. So that would explain all of my pain. I'm so worried because I have more testing on Wednesday and may need emergency laparoscopic surgery to remove the ectopic pregnancy. They said the normal pregnancy should not be affected, but I'm so worried! Anybody ever heard of this before? Know of someone who had a healthy baby after? Worried of the drugs and things that will affect him/her and that baby won't survive :-( I guess it's extremely rare.
