Does insurance pay for breast pumps?

Hi mamas! I’m pregnant with me and my husbands 2nd baby. For my first i had a breast pump and not thinking that I would be pregnant so soon I let a friend barrow my pump when I diddnt need it anymore and she broke it on accident. Before I go buy another one I saw something one time saying that insurance pays for breast pumps. Is that true? Thanks mamas!

In the US nearly all insurance policies are required to cover a breast pump, thanks to Obamacare. However the exact coverage depends on your policy. Some policies only cover a pump every few years, even if you have multiple pregnancies. Some policies only cover pump rentals or a limited selection of pumps, sometimes cheap poor quality pumps. The best way to find out your coverage is to call the number on your card and ask.
