When can I have sex again?

FTM and I’m 4 weeks postpartum. I’m not bleeding anymore and I don’t have anymore pain down there. Is it safe to have sex again or should I wait for my OB appointment in a couple weeks? I have no idea what to do. But I know me and SO are going crazy not being able to do it.

Just wait to be cleared and on birth control again. If you have sex now you could 1. End up with an infection or 2. End up pregnant on accident and that would be really hard on your body.

tbhhhh, I had twins vaginally & only got 2 stitches but we had sex at 4 weeks 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️ I was fine lol

Wait until you're cleared by your doctor. Also don't be surprised if that first time is horrendous. It took more then 6 months for it to not be painful

Wait to be cleared. You may feel fine but there could still be issues. I didn’t wait to be cleared and had sex a few days before being 6 weeks pp and it was uncomfortable but not painful. I went to my appointment and apparently still had a tear that hadn’t healed. I had to wait 2 more weeks for it to heal.

I would personally wait until the doctor clears you because you don’t want to risk infection but if you’re really going crazy 4 weeks isn’t that short of a time. Do use a condom, though. You do not want to risk getting pregnant again this early.
