Washing?

Question

So I washed baby’s clothes readyC packed her hospital bag, boiled some bottles and binkies just bc (I’ll be breast feeding but I wanted to have some bottles ready) so when I wash her blankets to also pack we got some homemade ones from my aunts and my grandma.. should i also wash that too or no? It’s knitted so I don’t want it ruined but I want her to have it to come home with.. FTM help!

Any hand made blankets I wash on delicates and then hang dry :)

This is what I did. I put laundry detergent in a bucket with water and dip them those clothes in for few seconds and rinse them off. I live in TX. So I dried them outside in Sun. I am a FTM as well.

I have washed a few crocheted blankets I just put the washing machine on hand wash cycle and then either hang to dry or just tumble dry no heat :)

I wash handmade ones on the delicates cycle. After 2.5 years and plenty of vomit from my son they’re still in excellent condition.

I would let my daughters soak in the tub for about an hour then gently rinse using a cup so the crazy faucet water isn’t running on it then let it air dry

My grandma prewashes things she knits. Not sure if that’s common practice but could ask?
