Cheap dinner recipe ideas?

I'm in a total dinner rut! And we are on a budget. Anybody have any budget friendly recipes they would like to share?  :)

*Shepherds pie
*Homemade pizzas
*Parmesan chicken, mashed potatoes and a veggie 
*White chicken enchiladas 
*Sausage and gravy over rice 
*Tacos or nachos

Home made mashed potatoes or fried red skin potatoes are bomb as fuck, and easy to make! I know that's not a whole meal, but its a good side that you can make tons of for cheap!

Roasted butternut squash is a true kitchen chameleon. It can be served as a side, turned into soup, or soup base. You can make dumplings with the leftovers and then boil then fry them with some bacon and parsley. I used to be a caterer, I specialized in European cuisines. Surprisingly most of the recipes were invented by poor house wives with 8+ kids to feed. Our friends in college liked our apartment because we had "real food" and it was so cheap they could take the recipe home and make it themselves
