My son is almost 5 months old but seems to cry at strange faces all the time! I feel like he’s to young for stranger anxiety...? Is this normal for this age?

I wouldn't worry about him. Some babies do things early. 
My first son started that at four months. He cried when ANYONE talked to him, especially men. He wouldn't let my dad hold him or talk to him at all and he wasn't fond of my sister either. He was probably a year old or so when he stopped. 
He's a little over two now and completely normal in every way and he LOVES people now. He says Hi and waves to everyone we pass.

My daughter sees a development specialist as she was born extremely premature and she was just telling me about how around the 6 month age babies are really big on stranger danger. They are very sensitive to people they are not familiar with. She said they usually grow out of it by 8 months. My daughter just turned 7 months old and the last month she won’t let anyone she doesn’t know hold her she freaks out.

My LO started that at 4 months. He would only go to a select people if he knew you well. It still takes him awhile to warm up to new faces but at least he doesn't scream his head off now. He is 14 months.
