Breastmilk issues!?!

Okay so I breastfed my daughter till she was 3 weeks then I had to have a surgery so I was told I couldn't. Well now she is now 3 months old, exactly 16 weeks. Can I try to pump my own milk for her again? Is it to late? Has someone stopped breastfeeding and started again?

My sisters friend who I use to baby sit for was in the same situation and she could not breast feed or pump after she had her surgerie the doctor and nurse told her stop breast feeding for a few weeks till you off meds and then pump and dump for few days after to make sure no meds in the milk by that time she couldn't pump there was no milk left. She tried and no milk came.

I would talk to a lactation consultant. They would best understand your situation and the possible success. I know of moms who have adopted babies and breastfed the babies, so it's probably possible. There are supplements you can take and getting on a pumping schedule would probably kick start you. But I would definitely talk to a lactation specialist for the best advice.
