How long will it take?

I am 11 days PP and my stitches hurt like hell.. I am not able to stand and walk. My midwife is saying just keep using tucks and take ibuprofen for pain relief.. so my question is it normal to have that much pain at 11 day also? And tucks will help me to heal or it is just pain relief?

Yes it can take up to 6 weeks. That’s why 6 weeks is the general “rule” for healing

It took me 7 weeks. It also depends on how many stitches you had etc.  11 days pp I was definitely still hurting. It’s not even two weeks out. You using dermoplast? I loved the momwasher. Way better than the peribottle. Best investment i made. I’m still using it. Also sitz baths and rest. Give yourself time to heal.

Normal. I didn't start to feel a noticeable difference until 2 full weeks pp and then at 3 weeks pp I felt almost completely healed. I still notice tenderness if I do too much walking or squatting/ bending in a day, but it's not terrible. Just stay on top of talking pain relief meds. My doctor said it was ok to take 4 ibuprofen (800mg) every 8 hours plus 2 extra strength tylenol every 6. Staying ahead of your pain is best way to manage it at this point and if you haven't already, get some dermoplast pain and itch spray.

My stitches started bothering me really bad.. itchy, painful and the whole area felt swollen. I got a sitz bath and started using tucks pads again. Both are helping, and both aid with healing. I hope yours start to feel better soon!

Taking sitz baths will help some.  It just takes time...
