Smell during birth?

I just saw on the TMI page someone ask if birthing smells. Yall, I'm the biggest freak about smells. Please reassure me it isnt that bad ohmygersh.

Depends on the woman 😂 I’m a labor and delivery nurse and it can be bad lol honestly I’ve trained myself not even to breathe out of my nose anymore 😅 all birth just has a certain normal odor don’t worry about it! Just take a shower before you go in if you can if you’re paranoid haha

Mine smelled weird because weird liquids were coming out of me ! It was sooo bad I hate smells and I was sooo embarrassed . I showered and alll couldn’t stop it .

I didn’t notice a smell of any sort when I gave birth. My husband didn’t either. But it would make sense for it to be smelly with all the things coming out of you.

Yes, unfortunately. Even if you’re “clean” before, still probably going to smell like blood and bodily fluids... 🤷‍♀️

I worried about this and even wanted the baby “cleaned” before seeing them but after having my daughter, they put her straight on me and I did not smell anything.  So glad I got to see her right away.

My mother said it smelled nasty when my daughter cane out. I didn’t smell anything but of course my mother was supporting my leg while I pushed so she was closer lol
