Sex and IUI?

Im confused why you are supposed to have sex 2 days before IUI then the day of IUI and 2 days after ? why would you do that if they are going to inseminate you?

To try and conceive naturally. Takes few days to build up sperm so that’s why they say every 2 days. You just have better odds if u BD during ur fertile week even if u do IUI

We had sex the night of and threw next day to better our chances.  I think we were told 3 days before the iui to bd because you don't want old sperm the day of, but you also want fresh good ones.

We don’t have sex for about 3/4 days before the iui then no sex the day of iui. My doctor says she don’t want any thing to “contract” so it gives the sperm some time to get into the tubes, but that we can have sex the day after. I think every doctor is different and recommends different ways.

I’ve never heard of the 2 days after... I’ve been told that we should try the night after IUI and the next morning. It’s really just to increase your chances. Ovulation is tricky business.

I just each doc is different. We were told to BD trigger night , skip next day, IUi day 3 and continue to BD day 4-5. Granted it hasn’t work so far.

I had sex 3-4 days before IUI we wanted hubby sperm count to be as high as possible. You can have sex as much as you want afterwards.
