Birth plan?

Anyone else writing a birth plan? My doctor hasn’t mentioned anything about me having one. I wrote one but I don’t want to seem like one of those super demanding moms lol. It’s nothing too intense... just stating that I’d like no pain management, able to walk and change positions, a few requests for after the birth and medical things I’d like to avoid unless an emergency situation. Do I bring this to my next appointment or do I wait until we are at the hospital?

Please, never feel you are demanding. This is your birth and body! My midwife office will discuss between 32 or 36 week appointments. Bring it up earlier if you’d like to help ease you.

They usually ask you what you want, my nurses at my last birth where pretty bad ass about reminding me to keep changing and moving, even though I told them to fuck off lol.

Birth plans are a great way to discuss ideals and expectations with your doctor. You can ask them when they prefer to go over your birth plan. It's good to be on the same page with your doctor before labor and delivery.
Bring extra printed copies for labor and delivery. They taped at least one copy up in the room. And other key staff got copies of ours. I don't remember who because I let my doula handle it.

Unless you truly don’t have any preferences for your birth experience, then YES, write one.
My doctor talked to me about it around the 35 week mark, and the nurses all asked for it at the hospital and took notes, asked me questions about certain things to make sure we were all on the same page, and they relayed the information to the delivering OB. They highly recommend you have a birthplan.
Yes, the nurses are super knowledgeable and do this all the time, but there are soooo many different requests/preferences for your birth that CAN be done with a birthplan in combination with fantastic nurses.

I just set up an appointment at my last checkup for my birth plan and hospital tour for my 28th week so if your doctor hasnt mentioned it yet maybe bring it up next time you go?

Usually they bring it up a little closer to the due date. With my son my nurse practitioner talked to me about it around the 35 week mark ☺️
