Infected stitches

I had a first degree tear and I got stitches for it. And I just peed and it was more painful than usual, so I looked down there and it looks to be a little red around the stitches, no pus or anything. I gave birth three weeks ago, and obviously I am going to go to my doctor and have her look. Has anyone dealt with this? If so what was the treatment?
