Does baby fall asleep independently?

My little ones are rocked/bounced/walked to sleep. When are they able to be put down and I can just let them fall asleep on their own?

My son is 9 weeks and it really just depends on the nights. Some nights he goes down no problem and some nights he needs to be held or rocked until he falls asleep

Just an FYI, feeding/rocking/touch is the biological norm for going to sleep so dont worry if baby needs your help getting to sleep. They'll get there when they're ready. 
My last son fed to sleep until he weaned at 17 months old. He's now 2.5 and ever since weaning we just have to tell him it's bedtime, he'll give us a kiss, and he takes himself off to bed. We've only been able to get my 9 week old to sleep once without breastfeeding so it looks like we'll be feeding him to sleep too.

Yes and no. During the day I can put my baby down and she’ll just look around the fall asleep...at night it’s a different story..😴🙄

I started a routine the first night home and by 3 weeks I was able to put her in her bassinet semi awake and she would go to sleep. Now at 8 weeks she’s smiles all the way to the room and squeals when I tell her good night. About 5 minutes later she’s out. I always give her a bottle, sit her up for about 15 minutes. Then it’s a diaper change and swaddle and straight to bed!

My LO is 9 weeks tomorrow and she has been falling asleep independently about half the time for a couple weeks now. She’s getting better and better every night and sometimes for naps.
