So my daughter caught a cold two weeks ago. She then started running high fevers about 3 days after catching said cold (104.4) maybe a little less. We took her to the doctor and they tested her for strep and flu, both came out negative. They looked in her ears and told us she had a double ear infection and prescribed her Cefinir. Fast forward 6 days taking these antibiotics and she still had high fevers and was lethargic and still showing no improvement. We took her back and they took her temp and it was 104.4. This was about an hour after giving her tylenol. They gave her Motrin and a popsicle and tested her for flu and strep again and both came out negative. They did blood work and an X-ray on her and called us the next day telling us everything was fine, but she had bronchitis. They prescribed another antibiotic and told us to discontinue the other. The new antibiotic has about one dosage left and she is still running a bit of a fever. She isn’t as lethargic, but is holding her throat and saying “ouch”. I’m at a loss and don’t know what to do anymore other than take her to the doctor once again. Has anyone else had this trouble?
