Best age to start with baby walker?

Katie

What’s the earliest I can allow my son to try a baby walker? When did your little one start? My son has been able to hold his own head up since the week he was born (although I would’ve never put him in a walker that young, don’t misunderstand me). I say that to simply point out that at 2.5 months, my son has great head and neck control. And he loves to stand (obviously while being held up by my husband or I since he can’t stand on his own yet) and he’s just a very active baby in general. So at what point can my husband and I consider pulling the walker out? Thanks in advance for any advice or personal experiences you can share 😊

Edit: Thank you everyone! I understand that walkers shouldn’t be relied upon for development. I know they don’t do much of anything for that. We don’t plan to use it excessively. We simply got it as a gift and so we figure we might as well get some use out of it (no matter how sparingly). Plus, my little guy gets bored suuuuper quickly (he’s so active, attentive, and curious so I guess this is a good problem to have!). So we figure even just 10 minutes a day in the walker could give us another thing to do with him for entertainment purposes. Again, thank you all for your opinions! 😊
