Anyone else feel like they have to nag to get attension?

Question

I love my husband, and I know he loves me. But lately all he cares about is playing his new madden game on xbox. 
He gets home from work and immediately will turn it on. He usually plays till we go to lay down for the night.

I hate just sitting there watching him play video games.
I hate cleaning the house while he plays videos games.
I hate that I have to make dinner while he plays videos games.
Most of all i hate that I get no attension.

Today I straight asked him if we could do something, he made it very obvious that he didn't want to do anything, and because he didn't give a shit I had to pick what we do. I sorta got mad and told him it would be nice if he took me to do something nice or fun because we never do anything anymore and that I'm really tired of watching him play video games.

At this point, I just want to freak out. 
I shouldn't be nagging my husband to spend time with me. 😓 that's something I feel that he should want, cuz I know I want to spend time with him.

This is actually a much easier fix than you think. Next time he gets on his game, go have dinner with the girls (or by yourself, he won't know), next time he won't pick what to do just say "ok, see ya later" walk out and go grab a movie by yourself or go disc golfing or the driving range or sit at the local park. When you get home talk about how fun it was, he'll get tired of being left out.

We have a rule where the first 30 minutes after we get home, we are allowed to unwind with our electronics (he plays video games, I search pinterest usually) but after that, we discuss what needs to be done (cooking dinner, any chores/house stuff, etc) and dilly it up equally. Some nights, he will take on more to give me a break, and vice versa. We both work full time.

I understand where you are coming from, but at least he is home and you know what he is doing. Some women are that lucky.

I made my husband get rid of his Xbox. It just became his only concern after work and it was effecting out marriage. I told him to pick Xbox or me.

Have you tried finding a game you both like playing? There lots of different genres. My husband and I both play. We pause it when things need to get done.

My husband is about the same way only with his games on his phone but when in tired of berth my ignored I usually take the phone from him and tell him that I want him to spend time with me sometimes I have to put my foot down or he just ignores me but every couple is different

My question is do guys ever outgrow video games? As a child my father never played video games. I dont want to have a child growing up with my husband playing. Just was wondering if this is a realistic expectation

Try playing with him? It's what I do, I'm terrible at the type of video games he plays. I do enjoy the games that are more story based like The Witcher series, or rather I make the decisions, he does all the work! We also play legitimately 2 player borderlands 2. I'm so terrible at it, I like the Sims and strategy games, but I like having that extra connection with my husband and his hobby!

My husband at least waits till dinners cooked but used to be would read a story to his daughter while I read to my boys before bed. Now I read to all of them together because he's glued to the game from after dinner until we go to bed.
