Anyone doing chromosomal testing and finding out gender?

I’m 8 weeks tomorrow. My first appointment is next week at 9 weeks. We are considering doing the Down syndrome screening test. I’m 32, husband is 33 and this is our first. I know I’m not “high risk” yet but I know the risk goes up with age, so we’d like to do it. I know you can also find the gender out this way. Is anyone else doing this or have done this? When would I find the gender out? I’m assuming my insurance won’t cover it (I have blue care network in MI) so I’m trying to figure out how much it is out of pocket? Does anyone know? I really don’t think I can wait until the anatomy scan, I’m too much of a planner/control freak. This little Seahorse is controlling my entire diet, sleep, mood, bathroom habits and body- so I need some control back!! 😂😂😂 Thanks ladies!!!

I'm doing the Panorama genetic screening. You can do it as early as 9 weeks, but I'm doing it this week when I'm 10 weeks. We will have the results in about a week.

I got the info for Panorama. They said it can be up to 200, but with my hospital insurance a few friends had it done and didn’t pay anything. I’m almost 32, so I feel the need to get it done also. But, I’m more excited about finding out gender. Lol!! I’m 10 weeks today so I’ll be doing it later this week 🥰

My hospital uses sequenom and I did it for my last pregnancy and will DEFINITELY do it again. If you call them they are really helpful about checking out your insurance coverage and if the coverage will cost you more that $350 then they will mark you as self pay and that's the most you will pay. You can do it as early as 10 weeks, but we wait for the 12 week visit just to have that last bit of "yep, this one will most likely stick" reassurance. We're not high risk either, but I like knowing for sure. And getting to know the gender early too is such a sweet bonus!

I will be doing the NIPT testing. It's a blood draw for three chromosomal anomalies, including Down's Syndrome. And yes, I think we will find out sex then too. 
I have 2 friends who've had it and it was about $350 out of pocket for them.

I did it with my son and will be doing it again in a few days this time.
I’m also in Michigan and on Blue Cross/Blue Shield. My insurance covered it last time because I was already over 35, but when I mentioned that to my midwife (at University of Michigan) the other day, she said it’s actually becoming increasingly common for insurance to cover it for everyone. So it’s worth looking into!
