Midwifery troubles

So I've just moved to a new area which meant me having to get a new midwife and a near by surgery. Amazingly, I've also just started a new job which really caught me by surprise. However, I am struggling to get hold of my midwife to tell her about the update and the inform her that I will have to reschedule my 12 week ultrasound next week for an earlier time to comply with my work schedule? Also, having phoned the hospital directly to ask if they were available on weekends, I have also found out that she hasn't booked me in for one yet. I'm concerned that I struggle to get hold of my midwife, and that she never seems to be available. And also the fact that she hasn't made an appointment yet seems hard to understand. I know she is probably really busy, but that makes me wonder if I shouldn't find a midwife that can concentrate on me? Does anybody have any advice to give from prior experience with midwives? This is my first baby, and I don't want to expect too much. But I do think I am right in saying that I shouldn't have to phone 5 times to speak to my midwife, and she phones back two days later.
