DOULA.. How much do they cost?

I am wanting to hire a dula. I am going to try a natural birth with no epidural, and am really thinking of hiring a doula. I would like an idea of how much they charge. If you have hires a doula, let me know your experience, and how much you paid.

at the hospital i’ll be delivering at they have volunteer doulas that i can request

Depends on your area. I’m in Georgia and paid $825 for doula services. This includes 3 pre-birth appts where she teaches you and support persons what to expect and how to aid you in labor, a class for my 4 year old on how to gently handle and care for his new baby sister, help with food prep or arranging a food tree with your family and friends, 24 hour support after 36 weeks and 1 postpartum visit for whatever you need...lactation support, someone to just watch the baby while you sleep or rest, etc. She also accepted payments as long as services are paid in full by 36 weeks. I’ve really enjoyed and benefited from the relationship even at this point.

Are you in the uk? If so you can get them free from charity’s I had the same lady twice it was amazing they keep you really calm and sort of just flow through labour obv everyone different but she made the whole thing a lot better

It depends on your area. Here they are $400-$800. I personally paid $500, and my doula took payments. I would never give birth without a doula again. She definitely made all the difference, and made sure I got the birth I wanted.
And I recently went through a late first trimester miscarriage, and I reached out to her, a she helped me through that as well. 
If you are in the US, you can check out doulamatch.net, it can help you find a doula in your area. Also, if you find a doula in training, they usually charge less. When I was getting my certification I charged $250.
