How the hell do you successfully get your child to sleep through the night without a swaddle?

My son is almost 6 months and he will only sleep through the night in a swaddle. (I don’t need bitchy comments, I know he shouldn’t be in swaddles anymore. He sleeps in a bed where he can’t roll over) he doesn’t want to sleep without it. He just cries and is inconsolable. Help! How did you get your LO to get off of a swaddle?

I just stopped putting him in it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ it sucked the first couple of days but once he could roll I knew it was for his own good. The first two nights we were up every 30 minutes getting him settled back down and then by the 3rd or 4th day he was sleeping through the night.

Try a transition sleeper like the Merlin sleep suit or love to dream, however you don’t want to rely on them. Sleep is developmental, your baby needs to learn how to to self soothe, allowing their arms to be free helps.

My son hated being swaddled so we never did it past like two weeks old and he’s pretty much slept through the night since then. Good luck momma! You can figure it out!

A couple hard nights was our solution. We transitioned to one arm swaddle and then straight to a halo sleepsack from there. We did this when he was younger though like maybe 2-3 months.

We're slowly transitioning my daughter out of a swaddle, I'll leave just one of her arms free and the next night I'll alternate and have the other arm free. We've had a couple of nights here and there with no arms swaddled and she's going pretty good.
