My engagement ring is in my possession!

We ordered my engagement ring from an estate jewelry shop on Etsy and I couldn't be happier! When we got the delivery notification today we immediately ran outside and the package wasn't there. My fiance went to find the delivery guy and he ended finding him and he told him that he left it in the mail cubby. As they came back to the apartment building, they saw our neighbor taking our package to the back, near the trash. This neighbor doesn't like us since my MIL has called the cops on him. My fiance asked if he saw it and the neighbor said "Oh, this is it. It was left on the ground, opened." My fiance asked if he saw what was inside and he said no and then he walked away. I messaged the Etsy store and then the neighbor knocked on our door. He asked my fiance if that was ours, pointing to the stairs. The stairs that lead to a lady's house, whom we assume broke into our apartment, before I moved in. My fiance brought in the ring and I immediately fell in love. I was a little nervous since we bought it online but it's gorgeous! Anyways, I think it was the dude. He knows my fiance had issues with her in past and I'm certain he just put it there so we could wonder. All in all, I'm ecstatic with the ring! After all of that, I think I love it even more!
