painless anal sex?!

my boyfriend is DYING to have anal sex, cause before i gave birth i was able to have anal sex since we got together (we’d slowly work our way up to it and it never hurt too bad cause it felt good) but after i had my baby i guess when they stitched me (cause i tore) it made me tighter? cause not i can’t have anal AT ALL. even when i puts pressure it hurts really bad. one night he BARLEY put it in and i cried for an hour and bled for about a day or two. but we both have been wanting to again, but idk how to have sex comfortably again without anything horrible pain or bleeding. should we use lube or something?
