BCG vaccine

Anyone medical with experience on this type of vaccine, please advise.

My son received this vaccine and I notice it was not administered correctly. I have 3 children so I knew it was meant to be slowly injected under the skin. Instead it was injected into the muscle, not intradermally. I raised my concern at the drs surgery and no one there had experience on this kind of vaccine. I explained that no blister formed straight away as it should. A dr then took an interest and wrote to the hospital where the vaccine was administered.

A manager wrote back to him stating she had spoken to the nurse who administered it and believed I was being an anxious parent... I was advised to wait 6 months as the effect (blister, scab, healing and the telltale scar) can take a while to appear...

Fast forward 6 months, my son now has a lump deep in his arm. It looks like a purple bruise almost.

My concerns are: did the vaccine work in immunising him? Will this lump be permanent? Do we need to have a second dose?
