What is exactly a cat nap?

I started transitioning my baby to her crib for naps.. and then eventually I will at bedtime. So far I started swaddling her and having a sound machine with the lights off. Before, I would just have her sleep in a swing in the living room. Her binkie helps to calm her down and she will be fine in her crib for 10-15 min with her eyes closed but I don't think she gets in a deep sleep.. she's still moving her binkie. And then once it falls out I think she's in a deep sleep but then I need to put it back in a couple of times. 
So my question is.. do babies actually sleep when they still use their binkie? Or are they just relaxing? FTM!! Would I consider that a cat nap?

I had this same question as well. From what I understand babies can be asleep while still sucking on a pacifier because suckling is a reflex they have. To avoid having to put the paci back in her mouth when it falls out and she wakes up, I try my hardest to take it out of her mouth before I lay her down. Usually I can get her relaxed and snoozy by bouncing with her in my arms and then if I gently take her paci, she will sometimes just keep on snoozing and I can set her down without it. Not always the case though! Lol

Does it fall out and she stays sleeping? If so just leave it, that what I do with mine. He cat naps as well but sometimes he doesn’t need his paci, sometimes it falls out just before I put him down, and sometimes he has it the whole time. Doesn’t effect his duration or quality of sleep. So if it falls out and baby is sleeping, I would leave it. They will get used to it eventually. Takes a few days.

Well thing is yes they fall asleep but they become codependent I think them to stay asleep so you have to keep putting them in my oldest was this way. My best advice is to try and get little on to go back to sleep sfter it falls out . No magical advice on how to do that as every baby is different lol
