Membrane sweep, how long after?

How long after you doctor swept the membranes did you go into labor? 
I'm 3 centimeters, 36 weeks and 4 days trying for a V-back!

I had a membrane sweep at my 40 week appointment and I was 3 cm dilated 80% effaced.  I'm now 40+5 and still haven't gone into labor.

Stripping membranes, sometimes called membrane sweeping, is a method used to try to start labor. The health care provider puts her or his finger into the cervix -- the mouth of the uterus -- and uses the finger to gently separate the bag of water from the side of the uterus near the cervix.

With my first I went into labor the next morning and my second was 2 days later.

I had one at 39 weeks. It didn't work .. I went into labour at 40+6.

Well I'm 40+5 and had one five days ago. It obviously didn't work and I also had one at 38 weeks. I was 3cm last Thursday when it was performed. I've also had it done twice each with my last four pregnancies and it never worked.

I can't answer that but I'm actually curious as to what that is. I'm pregnant with my first and I've never heard of it.
