Is This Normal, should I seek help?

My periods make me EXTREMELY sick. I get nauseous, I sweat, I have pain so bad it clouds my judgment. It feels like an extreme flu or something ranging from the week til and during my period. It wasn't like this when I first got my period (9) I'm 20 now and this started at about 17. I'm not on bc. Is this normal? Should I seek help? Is this Pms?

I remember mine getting terrible at 16-17 too. I'm 25 now and they're nothing like that were 16-21.  I remember being so desperate one day that I had to have my dad help me out of bed because I was so weak and in so much pain. I was prescribed 800 ibuprophen that seemed to help. Exercise seemed to be the best thing for me, also start taking your pain relievers a couple days Before you start (if you're regular) but honestly - birth control helped the most. Drink lots of water, get a heating pad and get with a good OBGYN they can get you on good medicine, check you got any other potential causes for your issues & get you on birth control if you choose and back you up with doctors notes if you need it for school or an employer for the days you struggle.

Mine has been awful from the get go, BC could help you (it didn't help me it just made me a worse moody bitch) talk to your doc about the best options. Maybe the depo shot would be best, some girls skip their cycle all together with the shot for months at a time. Some don't, everyone reacts differently.

Mine were like that. Turned out that I had a blood disorder called MTHFR. It affects reproductive stuff mainly...periods, pregnancy, and delivery. My periods were similar to what you described.
