Nitrofurantoin for uti safe??
So I have been prescribed this antibiotic for a uti and I am very nervous about taking it. Was just curious if anyone has taking it during the first trimester for a uti as well. I've been reading about it causing some birth defects and not sure the risk is worth it. I'm allergic to most antibiotics that would normally be prescribed. I plan on calling the dr in the morning to see if there is another medication but just need to vent in the meantime.
