Still swaddling?

My son is 6 months old and he can roll back to stomach so we’ve been trying for a month now to wean him from the swaddle. (I know bad parenting but we’re trying) NOTHING WORKS! We’ve tried sleep sacks and swaddling one arm out and he just refuses to sleep unless he’s completely swaddled. It’s stressing me out because he should’ve been off the swaddle a long time ago but he won’t sleep without it. Any suggestions?

I feel you, we had to quit cold turkey when she started rolling over at 12 weeks - she still had her startle reflex, it was fucking brutal. The Merlin’s Magic Sleep Suit would have been perfect but we found it too late! Look it up!

I swaddled my son until he was two months, when I stopped swaddling he would roll on to his side & I noticed he would sleep better, now he wakes up in the middle of the night crying but as soon as he goes on his side he soothes him self back to sleep. I’m guessing sleeping on his side is cozy like being swaddled. Maybe try laying him on his side? It’s worth a shot! Good luck mama!

It might take a few nights in a row for him to get used to one arm out, just be prepared to feel like you’re losing your mind because he’ll wake up more than normal. When I started transitioning my son out of his swaddle he’d go from waking up once a night to 3-4 times a night each time I took an arm out

I'm still swaddling my 6 month old too , haven't even startes to wean her yet . she rolls like crazy during the day but she doesn't roll at all at night. We swaddle her with her arms out .

It’s no big deal! They used to swaddle kids until 12 month my grandma says. If he is not rolling over in his sleep, why bother? If he is comfortable sleeping like that? There are no adults who can’t sleep unswaddled, so he’ll grow out of it eventually

We use the zipadee zip and the nested bean. She still gets swaddled at naps most days though (mostly because she flails around so much and won’t take her bottle).
