Is this normal ?

I’m almost 37 weeks , yesterday my dr checked me and said that i was dilated to a 1 and that she could feel the hardness of babies head . Ever since she checked me I had really bad cramps and around 7 I went to the bathroom and noticed I was bleeding/spotting. It stopped sometime last night when I was sleeping but I’m still lightly cramping . Just wondering if this is normal because I never did this with my son.

Yes it’s very common to spot after being checked and have cramps. But possible you could be loosing your plug. Keep an eye on it if it gets worse go in and have them see what’s going on.

I always spotted with cervical checks with my first. It’s normal, the cervix is very full and tender right now, but it made me so anxious I decided to stop getting checked.

Ugh!!!!! I asked to be checked and they won’t do it until I’m 38 weeks. So annoying. 
It’s just your cervix was bothered. It’s nothing to worry about, you may go into labour but if it’s your first it’s doubtful.

Yes! I had a cervical check on Friday (which was at 35+3) because I had to go to the hospital because I was sick and I’m already dilated to a 2. However, the nurse told me it would be super normal to see blood or discharge. The next day I had the exact same as you. It lightened up the next day and has completely stopped now.

Same exact thing happened to me Monday! I got home from having an exam & shortly after noticed dark brown discharge & then the following morning started losing mucus. I was dialate to a two at the appt as well. But my doula & nurse said that things are definitely progressing & it wont be much longer at all! I just keep telling myself that my body is naturally doing what it's supposed to be doing, as you dilate it bursts little capillaries causing a small amount of bleeding, and as you lose mucus you're dilating as well, because your cervix is opening! Hang in there momma, I'm right there with ya!

It’s normal. You typically sport after cervix checks and it may be a piece of the mucus plug, but Def not full thing. The mucus plug can actually for back. I had the same happen to me. A few days before I gave birth (day before my due date) I lost my full mucus plug and I would say about 2-3 days later I started contracting.

It’s normal. My midwife warned me after my cervical check that I might spot. I didn’t but I think it’s common.
