How would you pronounce Lila?

My son keeps saying we should name our daughter purple (um, no) but I thought it would be cute to see if I could find a name meaning purple.  Lila stood out to me but it is a non-English name, which means people would never say it correctly. I have a student by this name and I mispronounced it when I met her!  Technically it should be pronounced Lee-lah if you are going by it’s origin.  Lye-Lah is a wonderful name, but not what I was going for.  Thoughts?

My grandmother’s name was Leela. Lila immediately looks like lie-luh to me.

We have had 3 lila's in our family. My great grandmother loved lilacs (she was 100%Norwegian and immigrated here), and that's where she the got the name. The 2nd and now 3rd(lila's are all namesakes). Lie-lah is only way I've ever heard it pronounced.

I automatically think lee-lah cause my first language is Spanish. Lila is Spanish for lilac which is what you were going for. I say you name her that and just educate people on how it should be pronounced and what it means. Maybe it will be old but the meaning behind her being named that will be worth it imo☺️
