Birth Story ♥️

Ashley

Now that I have a little time as baby is getting a procedure done(I’ll explain that later) here is my birth story ♥️

I came to the hospital April 9th at 8 pm to start my induction since my last baby was 9 lbs 14 oz and a week late plus a postpartum hemorrhage and this baby was measuring larger.

We started off with inserting Cytotec in my cervix as it was only a fingertip, soft and thick. It started contractions within 30 mins and was doing great. I finally asked for some stadol to help with the pain after a few hours since the contractions were really strong. I needed up with only getting 2 doses of that before my nurse said let’s go ahead and get an epidural even though I was only at a 2 at 5:30 a.m. I had finally progressed to a 3 and had my water broken at 9:30 a.m. and pitocin started. I got to a 3 and they had to put an internal monitor in because the monitor couldn’t keep up with the contractions and his heart rate on my belly. At 1:39 pm I was only 4cm and 90% effaced but he had moved down a little bit. At 2:50 p.m. I was fully dilated with just a lip of cervix. At this point my epidural had worn off probably around 12 p.m. My legs were numb but I was feeling each contraction 😫 They had the anesthesiologist come in and give me a extra dose. It didn’t touch the pain at all. I pushed for an hour. Baby was stuck on my pubic bone. So we used the squatting bar to help drop him even though I thought I was dying. I was so tired I was falling asleep between contractions and the nurse was yelling at me saying I needed to get this baby out because I was tired and baby was getting really tired and I was on the verge of an emergency c section. I told her I couldn’t do it and I wanted to punch her for yelling at me 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ but I pushed with all my might and he ended up trying to come out too fast so they held him in me. I was screaming and moaning and I sounded like a damn animal. My body pushed against her holding him in and doctor almost didn’t make it. He didn’t even have time to cover his shoes 😂 baby come out with the cord wrapped around his neck and quiet. He was alive and breathing though he was just exhausted. He’s badly bruised because he got stuck on my pubic bone. And he has an extra finger. His daddy was also born with an extra finger. Luckily it had no bone and was basically like a skin tag and just hanging so he is currently getting circumcised and getting his extra finger removed. He’s such a good and quiet baby and so far is still getting the hang of breastfeeding. I can not wait to go home and have his big brothers meet him ♥️♥️
