Period taking forever

Ok so near the end of July I took my birth control to skip my period, so I went straight to the new pack rather than take the placebo pills. Then a week later I missed a pill which caused me to have a slow period and then I decided to stop taking birth control because I thought it was the cause of some other problems I've been having. I haven't had my period since then and I took a pregnancy test last week which came back negative. Does anyone have any clue what's going on?
