He should be told what your plans are and he can express hes concerns or reasons why it should not happen.  At the end of the day the decision is yours. You are the one who is going to have to carry the child go through all these body changes. So bottom line its your decision.

Yes they should be told, it's 1/2 their baby as well. No matter who goes through the 9 months of carrying the baby.
