Is this normal behavior?
So I have a 2.5 year old boy. He is incredibly energetic and inquisitive and loves any sort of physical play where he gets to run wild. Lately I have been having the hardest time with his behavior. He pushes his 8 month old sister over and he pushes and wrestles younger kids to the point where I don’t even want to bring him to play with the other kids in the neighborhood because it’s so stressful trying to keep him from hurting these poor kids who are half his age/size. We live in a pretty small town and just moved here so I don’t know anyone who has kids closer to his age. He will take off running away when we go outside and he won’t stop or come back when I tell him to. He hits with toys (not really with his hands but he will hit with a toy) he does it all while he’s “playing” but I am so tired of constantly trying to keep him from injuring his baby sister. When he grabs something that he isn’t supposed to have and I tell him to put it back or hand it to me he will just take off running with it then throw whatever object he had. He throws his food all over the floor, he throws everything all over the floor come to think of it. Sometimes he will listen and be incredibly sweet and gentle and actually enjoyable to be around but lately it’s been an absolute nightmare! I’m ranting here I suppose. I guess I’m just not sure if this is simply normal two year old behavior or if I’m doing something wrong or if there is something abnormal about it all. The level of destruction is insane and I can’t leave my 8 month old to play with her toys on the floor anymore because he is so rough with her and I hate bringing him to play with the other kids we know because they are all little girls under 18months and he’s terrorizes them too! It’s so frustrating and I don’t know what to do! Does this sound normal and just the “terrible twos” phase or should I be concerned? Sorry for the long post 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
