Have you given your baby peanut butter?

At my baby’s 6 month check up, his pediatrician said we can give him peanut butter on toast. With so many peanut allergies, it made me nervous to let him eat peanut butter. Today, at 8 1/2 months, I gave him peanut butter on toast with me watching him like a hawk and he loved it.

Yes, it’s recommended now right after the 6 month mark. Unless it’s hereditary, they’re saying it reduces the chance of an allergy if theyreintroduced to it early.

Yep! We gave Kayleigh PB shortly after she turned 6 months! On toast and mixed into applesauce. She seems to like it and hasn't had a reaction to it (or anything else 🤞).

Nope. I’m waiting until he’s older. The pediatrician said we will discuss at his 9 month appt which is in two weeks bc of scheduling conflicts

I was nervous and put it off for a bit but gave it around 8 months. She loved it! No reaction.

I give my daughter a small bit on a spoon everyday. Those minutes she spends indulging are the quietest ones of the day 😂

Yes we gave it to our daughter right around 6 months. She seemed to like it. And thankfully no reaction. Her dr said it was fine to give her as long as no one close to us had an allergy to it.

We did at 6 months eggs , peanut butter the high allergy foods .

Yes at 6 months and every week since, same with other allergens like milk (via yogurt), fish and eggs. Our doctor told us to introduce early and watch for a reaction. They are thinking now that early introduction can actually help avoide development of allergies.
