Hypertension

Just a general question. I'm diagnosed with hypertension. I'm currently on labateahol. Saw my fetal diagnostic doctor yesterday he suggested that I go on a baby aspirin regimen to help avoid preclampsia. I did however get my regular obgyn doctors 2nd opinion which he stated that's the theory now. So my question is has anyone been on this regimen? How successful was this theory? Still feeling a little uneasy about starting it.
