How long after a miscarriage do the test still show strongly pregnant when you miscarry at about 6 weeks? My friend was told at the ER she was miscarrying about two weeks ago and that she passed the baby. She just took a test and it's really dark

Mine took about two and a half weeks I think to be negative. I kept testing every few days to see and the lines should get more and more faint until it was finally gone all together. I know some people say hcg stays in their system for several weeks though. It just depends

I don’t know the exact answer, and truly it depends on how high her hcg was at the time of loss how long it will take to return to “normal” or <5. Today’s pregnancy tests are so highly sensitive they will pick up hcgs less than 20 (why they can detect before you even miss your period). 
I too have just suffered a loss and have the same question in regards to at what point will my test be an actual positive and not still detecting from my prior pregnancy. Truth is, it will be different for everyone and the best bet would be to get a blood hcg if there is any question!
