I had a doctors appt this morning and was only 1 1/2 cm dilated, I'm 39 weeks tomorrow. Doctor said because I'm only that dilated so she did not want to do a full membrane sweep, due to not wanting me to have non regular contractions, or having my water break but not go into active labor. While she was checking everything she then turned and said she did a small partial sweep. How can do you a partial sweep? She said next week she will do a full sweep if he is not here yet. I guess I'm still confused on the partial sweep? Has anyone else been told this?
