Tampon size

I’m a 23 yr old, have had a few sexual partners and had sex with average to large penis before without too much struggle. I started using tampons last year, tampax compak lites are fine, a little uncomfortable to insert but fine once in. When I buy regular I really find the applicator tube size quite hard to stuff in and feel almost like a fullness where it’s uncomfortable to wear. I couldn’t even get a regular in from a different brand, is this something I should be concerned about?

I did have an internal exam last year and it was difficult and the nurse said to specifically ask for a small speculum next time as the medium was too big really. I bled for days after the exam. I did go through a period where I slept with someone who had a big penis and I bled every time I had sex with him.

Am I normal?
